My major was English. My specialty was Contemporary Literature. My passion for literature went so far as to give two years of my life to a PhD.
Which was an amazing time, but life is expensive and funding for such research scarce and hard to get to.
But going into that was not a surprising thing, if we take into account that I self-taught myself to read before I even went into the kindergarten, and that I was reading full-sized books at the age of 6. And, of course, I have never stopped.
I also was into editing, in full, for a decade, with my own small company. I edited poetry, non-fiction, fantasy, detective stories, and a lot of children’s literature. As small companies go, I got into all the parts of the business, which I know as thoroughly as thoroughness can be. Fierce competence and some changes in life made me decide to change paths but I ended that experience with a lot of inside knowledge that now I can pour into my work as well.
With my little stints in writing for fun, shown in my two blogs here and here, (hipervínculos a los blogs), I also have a view of what creative work entails and I hold the maximum respect for the creator and his or her work.
So far, I have translated nearly 40 published titles. Most of them are romance or fantasy, a few non-fiction. Some of them are listed here (enlace a Goodreads)
